Training

Every Class3B and Class4 laser system installation is required to have a Laser Safety Officer (LSO) to over see the safe operation of the laser show. Given that most laser displays have lasers that fall into these classes, it is important that the person responsible for the laser system is fully aware of the safety issues that need to be considered, so that the audience and work colleagues are not put at any unnecessary risk.

Laser Visuals Research are able to offer specific training based on the existing laser safety standards and guidance notices, tailored to the requirements of the user. Please visit our laser display safety training page for further information.

Laser Show Hazard Assessment

For venue operators, lighting installers, designers and Local Authorities. We are able to offer reviews of the installation and advise if it conforms to safety requirements.

Scanned Laser Emissions Measurement

Measuring the amount of energy present in a particular laser effect is unfortunately not as simple as just putting a power meter probe into the path of the laser beam. Due to the nature of how the laser energy is distributed, standard laser power meters are ineffective at this form of measurement.

Laser Visuals Research possess a range of calibrated measuring equipment that can be used to accurately determine the laser energy levels present in display effects. In addition to the specialist measurement tools, we also have the ability to perform a detailed analysis using computer software we have developed in house.

Laser Safety Advice

We can help individuals and organisations, whether they are operators, installers or manufacturers of laser equipment, venue operators or indeed local authorities. We are able to offer advice on most aspects of laser display safety, including assessment, product and installation compliance, licencing issues and legal requirements. We are able to assist with producing risk assessments and laser safety policy statements.
